Director of Nursing

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Nursing to oversee our nursing staff and ensure the highest standards of patient care within our facility. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. The Director of Nursing will play a crucial role in developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, managing nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

- Provide overall direction and leadership to the nursing department, creating an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.

- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering professional development and performance improvement.

- Establish patient care standards and protocols, ensuring they are followed by all nursing personnel.

Clinical Oversight:

- Monitor and evaluate patient care services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote high quality of care.

- Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and quality assurance initiatives.

- Address patient and family concerns promptly and professionally.

Policy Development:

- Develop, review, and update nursing policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

- Collaborate with other departments to establish interdisciplinary care plans that meet the needs of patients.

Financial Management:

- Prepare and manage the nursing department budget, ensuring optimal use of resources to deliver high-quality care.

- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the organization's financial and operational goals.

Training & Development:

- Organize and oversee ongoing training programs for nursing staff to ensure they remain current with best practices and regulatory changes.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence through education and development initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure that nursing practices adhere to all relevant accreditation, licensing, and regulatory requirements.

- Lead the nursing department during inspections and surveys, addressing any deficiencies identified.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.

- Active RN license in Georgia.

- A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with 2 years in a leadership role preferred.

- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, principles, and regulations.

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

- Proven ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
